Dear colleagues,
Over the last few weeks, the whole world, our country, the aviation industry, and VNA are all on the fight against an acute respiratory infection caused by a novel coronavirus (nCoV). Although many proactive measures have been taken in response to the outbreak, the infection situation contains many fast and complicated developments. Even though this fight is not easy, VNA – with the spirit, love, and dedication of a national flag carrier – is and will be the bridge to carry passengers home and away from the epicenter of the outbreak.
I do know that each staff member of VNA – especially pilots, flight attendants, engineers, officials, employees of units, subsidiaries directly serving passengers and flights, and representative agencies – has always encouraged each other to overcome concerns, has proactively taken various preventive measures, and has strived to implement the assigned tasks. Such resilient cases of front-line staff members – not afraid of the difficulties amid the nCoV outbreak to ensure the seamless operation for all VNA’ flights – epitomizes not only the image of the national flag carrier but also that of the courageous Vietnamese people. Their bravery in all situations and responsibility for the community bring unadulterated pride to VNA.
My dear colleagues,
The most effective prevention methods are to take care of our own health and to take responsibility for our families, colleagues, and community. It is recommended that everyone should maintain a healthy lifestyle, do exercise on a daily basis, ensure balanced nutrition in their diet, and maintain good hygiene – this includes taking extra care to wash your hands as often as possible.
Our top priority is the safety of all staff members, with an added concern for pilots, flight attendants, and front-line units in the China Branch. Roles of the Chief Representative and Deputy Chief Representative of the China Branch should continue to maintain operation in Shanghai. As of 10:00 pm on the 2nd of February, 2020, all staff members working at the China Branch and their families were carried back to Vietnam and kept under isolation for monitoring in accordance with regulations. The Group’s leadership always accompanies and stands arm-in-arm with everyone in all activities, with our primary goal of ensuring the health and safety of our employees at all costs.
I hope you will continue to foster the inner strength inherent in VNA’ people with your love and dedication to your profession. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your hard work and valuable dedication to VNA on the prevention of coronavirus. Despite the difficulties, we – with our optimism – will overcome and be ever-prepared to courageously meet head-on the coming stages of recovery and continued development.
Thank you.
