More than 280 Vietnamese citizens safely repatriated from the US (Cre: Internet).
The flight, departing from San Francisco, was arranged by Vietnamese representatives agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US and relevant agencies of the host country.
The majority of passengers on board the aircraft were minors under 18, elderly people, people with underlying illness, workers with expired visas, students who had already completed their academic year, holidaymakers, and others in specially difficult circumstances.
Vietnamese representatives agencies in the US dispatched officials to assist the citizens in their travel as many of them came from different parts of the country where travel restrictions remained in place.
To ensure the safety of the passengers and crew and prevent the spread of COVID-19, VNA strictly implemented security, safety, and hygiene measures during the flight.
After landing at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province, all VNA’ passengers and crew members had their health checked and were taken to a concentrated quarantine centre, in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
Implementing Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s directions, relevant domestic agencies and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad are devising plans to bring Vietnamese citizens home when domestic quarantine capacity permits.
