Since the beginning of October, plastic straws and cups have been replaced with paper ones in the Lotus Lounges at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports. At the same time, waste has also been classified based on recyclability for the airport to collect and process it quickly and efficiently.
Intending to limit plastic waste by altering passenger habits of using water bottles, Noi Bai Lotus Lounge (International terminal) has placed glass cups and bottles at convenient, easily visible positions. Meanwhile, plastic cups are still used in bathrooms to differentiate them from the paper cups used in the food and beverage area.
At Tan Son Nhat Lotus Lounge, plastic utensils have been replaced with wooden ones. Additionally, limiting wet tissues to fewer locations throughout the Lounge – such as the newspaper stand, food, and beverage area, etc. – has contributed to lessening their usage, thereby reducing nylon waste.
Even though various solutions have been implemented during the “Green Planet” campaign, VNA is still searching for optimal replacement solutions and working to balance environmental protection with security and service quality. In addition to overall adjustments in its operations, the heightened-awareness of each individual within the Company also contributes to making VNA a greener company.
Please join VNA’ “Green Planet” campaign today and help us in making positive changes for the environment (Cre: SASCO, Khanh Chi).
