VNA launches the first flight simulator complex in Viet Nam

VNA launched its first simulator complex in Vietnam, highlighting a new milestone in the pilot-training’s investment of the company.

The event was held under the witness of Vice Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho, Chairman of Law Committee of the National Assembly Truong Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of The National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children Pham Tat Thang.

 

 

The aircraft simulators are located at Vietnam Airlines’ Flight Training Center (FTC) which includes 4 operational cockpit simulators. In particular, the training facility will provide a full-range of initial type rating and training programmes for 01 Airbus A320 (invested by Vietnam Airlines from June 2012), 03 A321, A350 and Boeing B787 aircraft types in partnership with CAE Inc, one of the world’s leading civil aviation training organisations.The cooperation between two leading companies will provide world-class training that achieve the highest levels of safety and efficiency and deliver the best customer experience.

The establishment of flight simulator complex will bring enormous benefits for Vietnam Airlines and the airline industry in many aspects. Localization of the pilot training of the three main aircraft will help Vietnam Airlines take the initiative in training, ensuring the number and quality of pilots, meet the safety criteria. Vietnam Airlines will also save more than VND285 billion in 10 years from self-training transshipment.

Strategically, the aircraft simulator complex lays the foundation for Vietnam Airlines' will focus primarily on the provision of simulator training for new aircraft types and targeted to become one of the 5 leading in the region. FTC Vietnam Airlines has been providing training services for many regional airlines, including the basic pilots of Australia and India.
