Tan Son Nhat Airport boosts detection and quarantine steps amid nCoV situation

Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City has taken steps to increase detection and quarantine measures placed on passengers by boosting the amount of modern medical equipment available at the airport to combat the threat of the coronavirus (nCoV) infection.

Each day the airport in the southern city welcomes approximately 10,000 passengers, therefore increasing the urgency to fight the potential spread of the nCoV. Steps have been taken which see the airport now possessing several machines which measure the body temperature of passengers.

Individual information from each passenger, including their health situation and phone number, are checked upon entry (Cre: VOV).

Any passenger that shows signs of respiratory infection is to be isolated with immediate effect and must undergo a thorough medical check-up. Most passengers passing through the airport choose to wear face masks as a means of protecting their health and the health of those in the vicinity. In addition to Vietnamese citizens returning home, international passengers also don face masks amid the ongoing fears surrounding the spread of the nCoV.
