Air France adds new Healthy meal to its a la carte menu

Air France is adding a new “Healthy” meal option to its premium economy and economy class a la carte menu that passengers can book now for long-haul flights departing Paris from April 1 onwards.

BÀI VIẾT LIÊN QUAN

The Healthy meal is one of six a la carte options that passengers can pre-select as an alternative to the complimentary meal served on their flight. However, it does come at an additional cost of €21 (US$24.3), or 7,000 Flying Blue miles. All of Air France’s a la carte alternative meals carry an added fee of between €12 (US$13.9) and €28 (US$32.3), or between 4,000 and 8,500 Flying Blue miles.

For that additional fee, passengers receive a starter, main, cheese and a dessert, with menus changing for the spring/summer and autumn/winter seasons.

Air France Healthy menu – Chicken

From April to September, the menu will comprise:

Starter: Duo of quinoa salad and soft white cheese fragranced with spices, radish pickles and green asparagus tips with olive oil

Main: Grilled chicken with thyme and rosemary, sauce vierge and green vegetable medley

Cheese: Ash-coated goat’s cheese with a pumpkin seed crumble

Dessert: Bourbon vanilla pannacotta, strawberry, red fruit and lime tartare

Air France Healthy menu – Pollack

From October 2019 until March 2020, the menu will change to include:

Starter: Lentil salad with balsamic vinegar, cubed celery and carrot, red onion and preserved lemon zest pickle

Main: Pollack in mandarin sauce, tangy yellow carrot and broccoli mousse

Cheese: Fresh goat’s cheese, wholegrain mustard, and honey green vinaigrette

Dessert: Baked pear with orange blossom honey on cottage cheese, served with dried cranberries and crushed speculoos

Passengers can pre-book their selections online under the “Manage my booking” option from 90 days to 24 hours prior to their flight’s scheduled departure time.

Unfortunately, the meal new meal choice will only be available for long-haul flights out of Paris, who will have a total of six a la carte menu options – Ocean, Tradition, Healthy, Fauchon, and My Fun, the latter launching this time last year.

Passengers flying out of other ports, including French Overseas Departments, the US, Canada, Africa , and Asia, will only have three alternative a la carte meal options – Ocean, Tradition and Italia.

Last month, Air France released details of its business class and La Premiere (first class) menus for long-haul flights departing Paris throughout 2019. The airline has partnered with seven Michelin-starred chefs to design its menus, which will rotate on a three-month basis.
