Accordingly, on the morning of September 14, two Pacific Airlines’ Airbus A320s took off from Tan Son Nhat airport, carrying protective equipment to Changi International Airport (Singapore). Two return flights landed safely the same afternoon carrying 360 Vietnamese nationals at Can Tho International Airport.
All passengers and crew had their temperature measured and wore protective gear during the flight (Cre: PA).
The repatriation flights required the close coordination of domestic and foreign authorities as well as VNA and Pacific Airlines. The prevention and control procedures for the flights were executed at level 4 – the highest level in VNA Group’s anti-pandemic standard system.
In addition to specialized protective equipment for the crew, passengers were also equipped with protective suits, including full-body clothing, eyewear, masks, medical gloves, and shoe bags. All protective gear was transported from Vietnam to be distributed to passengers at Changi Airport before boarding. Immediately after landing in Vietnam, all passengers were instructed through compulsory medical procedure. The two Airbus A320s of Pacific Airlines were disinfected before being put into service again.
The flight safely landed at Can Tho International Airport this afternoon (Cre: PA).
Pacific Airlines is scheduled to operate two round-trip flights to Taiwan (China) on September 21, 2020, by Airbus A320s to transport Vietnamese citizens back home. In the coming time, the airline will continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, competent authorities, and VNA to organize repatriation flights. This is also the first step for Pacific Airlines to prepare for more scheduled international flights in the near future as approved by the authorities.
