What is so Special about a Vietnamese Sandwich on a 4-Star Flight?

It’s not that simple to make a delectable sandwich (banh mi) with smooth dough, and a crunchy and creamy yellow crust 10,000 meters about sea-level.

BÀI VIẾT LIÊN QUAN

Besides “ao dai” and “pho,” “banh mi” is among the three Vietnamese words which are officially admitted into the world-prestigious Oxford English Dictionary. In the modern world, despite intense competition with fast food stores, the widely-known street food of the S-shaped country still secures its place in the hearts of diners across the globe. “Banh mi” has become a distinct highlight on the menus of VNA’s flights, delivering complete and unforgettable 4-star experiences also rich in Vietnamese flavors.

In each region of Vietnam, from Ha Noi to Hoi An, Sai Gon, “banh mi” is altered to satisfy the tastes of local people. Noting the small differences, the chefs of NCS (Noi Bai Catering Service) have dreamed up an innovative Vietnamese sandwich recipe that harmonizes the “banh mi” tastes from distinctive regions of Vietnam and creates a combined flavor full of Vietnamese features.

Firstly, the light and crunchy crust gives off the attractive aroma of butter. Then, pork slices are carefully and delicately boiled in a broth made from anise, cardamom, cinnamon, and clove before being simmered to make them flavorful. Next, creamy country pate is put inside the sandwich along with pickled vegetables, a familiar type of salad that is favored in Vietnamese meals. The pickles will be spiced differently to suit international passengers. Passengers can freely select between pork and chicken for the stuffing to ensure tastiness and nutrition. Last but not least, different ingredients of starch, protein, and vegetables are mixed harmoniously to make the dish taste savory and to look beautiful, offering both domestic and foreign passengers a delicate yet straightforward cuisine from the Land of the Lotus.

By choosing traditional and familiar dishes that cater to the taste of the majority of passengers, VNA longs to deliver 4-star meals at 10,000 meters above ground. From convenient seats to appetizing in-flight meals, VNA has been doing its utmost to care for and pay special attention to the smallest details with the aim of enhancing its overall service
