Hello Dzung, what was your first impression or memory when joining the Youth Union of VINAKO?
When I first joined the Youth Union of the company–as a young man at that time–I joined the extensive program of VNA Group’s Youth Union in 2011 together with many other members. I felt very happy and honored to be part of the VINAKO Youth Union.
What opportunity led to your career in the aviation industry and your attachment to VNA until now?
I was very lucky when my father moved from the armed forces to join the civil aviation industry of Vietnam back in 1979. So my job in this field is like a hereditary continuation from my father.
When you were elected Youth Union Secretary, how did you feel?
When I was elected Secretary of the unit’s Youth Union, I felt extremely honored. I knew that I would have to try very hard to best accomplish my assigned tasks and to inspire other members in the organization to progress and develop together, as my predecessor had done before me.
Who was your first teacher at VNA? How did that person help you, and what impression did they leave on you?
My first teacher was Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Head of the Business Department. He helped me a lot during my early days when I joined the company. He was also the one who inspired me to join the Youth Union.
As the Secretary of the Youth Union, what have you done to contribute to the performance of the organization as well as the business activities of the firm?
As the Secretary of the Youth Union, I know that I need to be dynamic and confident when participating in all activities of the organization, common activities of Tan Son Nhat Regional Council, and especially those launched by VNA Group’s Youth Union.
All assigned business tasks must be well-completed, and it is also critical to contribute many more useful ideas for the business activities of the company.

Can you share a little about your professional job and how you find a balance between your professional work and your Youth Union work?
Professionally, I’m a member of the document team in the business department. I am always aware that I need to completely fulfill my professional work in order to perform other tasks and work of the Youth Union.
In your view, what is the most important thing for young people in the aviation sector?
We are now living in the 4.0 industry era; it is easy for people to travel by air. As an airline, we are competing with many other carriers on domestic and international routes. The most important thing for young people in the aviation sector now is to actively master and flexibly adopt new technologies to enhance the business efficiency of the company, as well as coming up with new ideas to make our airline competitive with others.

How do you feel when you see the strong and steady growth of VNA? Can you share more about those milestones?
As a member of the large VNA family, I am very proud that VNA is constantly growing and expanding, especially in passenger transport. Most of my friends’ and relatives’ assessments or reviews about the VNA brand are positive. It is something that I’m very proud of.
Could you please tell us about the outstanding activities of the Youth Union in your company recently?
Recently, VINAKO has participated in many sports and cultural activities such as joining the Youth Union Sports program of the Southern Region Competition Cluster in 2019 on May 15-16, 2019; participating in the VNA League -Tan Son Nhat region (Vinako-FTC) in which our football team won a consolation prize, and visiting Vietnamese heroic mothers in Phuong Vinh An commune, Cu Chi in collaboration with the Youth Union of TCS and TECS.
It is often said that union activities are just for formality and there is nothing new. What do you think about this?
Only when people participate in Youth Union activities do they fully realize the full impact of these activities.
By joining Youth Union activities, all members become more open, connected, and confident in their communication and exchanges–so, these activities foster a positive learning atmosphere for everybody.

I would like to add an additional question if I may. If only three words are chosen to describe your personality, what would they be and why would you choose them?
Heart, action, and can-do spirit!
In my opinion, people need to put their hearts into every job that they do, no matter how hard it is—we will accomplish our tasks well and we must not rely on others, but we must take action to achieve the highest efficiency and productivity. Also, we need to constantly try to gain more knowledge to broaden our minds.
What an exemplary person! Can you tell me about your regular day?
My working day starts at 8 am until my clients’ export goods are delivered to the airport warehouses and all procedures are completed so that the goods can be transported by air within the day or the next day morning, specifically:
- Check email of customers sending intra-day goods export requests.
- Make an intra-day Cargo Manifest chart to see the quantity of cargo carried during the day.
- Book cargo loads on freight carriers for intra-day air transport shipment.
- Inform customers if their shipment cannot be shipped within the same day or if there are issues with export documents.
- Make bills for intra-day shipment when data is sent from the OB department.
- Send all information about shipments carried within the same day or the next day to domestic and foreign agents of the company and inform them that they will need to receive the shipment and do the paperwork for shipment delivery for customers in their host country.
- Transfer data to the system of shipping companies so that they can send the messages to the border gates of importing countries.
- Send bills and invoices to notify all customers whose shipment is transported within the same day.
Finally, not only satisfied with a four-star airline rating, VNA is looking forward to becoming a five-star airline by 2021, what do you think you can do to help raise the service quality of VNA to reach five-star standards?
VINAKO is a goods shipping company; I think I will try to ensure that customers’ ordered goods are delivered to their destination in an absolutely safe manner without causing any loss or damage–which can affect the reputation of the firm and of the Group. This is my small part to play in strengthening the service quality of VNA to reach five-star standards.
Thank you very much!
