During the initial implementation phase, VNA has deployed new notification methods at Tan Son Nhat Airport to better assist passengers in keeping track of any updating flight information and avoiding missed flights.
Specifically, the carrier will have signage explaining this discontinuation to be placed at convenient locations such as check-in counters, security screening checkpoints, waiting areas and aircraft doors prompting passengers to update flight information via the flight information display systems (FIDS) found at the terminal.
In addition, check-in counter staff will inform passengers of any changes, as well as notify them of any pertinent information on boarding passes such as boarding gate and time, departure time and so on.

At boarding gates, VNA will arrange staff to carry signage displaying flight number, departure time, and flight destination to onboard passengers. Should passengers not be present near the gate’s closing time, VNA staff members will carry signboards in security screening areas, restaurants, areas around boarding gates, etc., to adequately find and notify all passengers.
In the case that a flight will take off 15 minutes later or earlier than scheduled – and in addition to notices on FIDS – VNA will notify passengers via other means depending upon specific circumstances, such as: messages, emails, phone calls, paper signs placed at easily visible locations e.g. check-in counters, information counters, aircraft doors, direct face-to-face notification at the airport…
Tan Son Nhat International Airport announced this discontinuation of loudspeaker announcements in a bid to reduce noise pollution and to build a more peaceful airport experience. This is a trend adopted by many international airports to bring passengers comfort without any disturbance from continuous loudspeaker announcements, as well as helping them to form the habit of searching and updating information via FIDS and signage at airport terminals.
