The medical supplies included 500 mattresses to assist COVID-19 prevention and control at the Ministry of Defense’s field hospitals and centralized quarantine areas.
Amid the ongoing pandemic, VNA has been boosting its freight transportation covering both domestic and international routes, including necessities for the medical sector serving pandemic prevention and control activities, as well as medical supplies from the Government and people of Vietnam to other countries.
In recent times, VNA has provided free-of-charge transportation of more than three tons of complete medical protective gear and face masks from Cho Ray Hospital in HCMC to Hanoi; ten ventilators donated by Temasek Foundation International from Singapore to Vietnam; medical equipment including face masks, complete medical protective gear, COVID-19 test systems and test kits from the Government and people of Vietnam to their counterparts in Laos; medical supplies from the Government and people of Vietnam to European countries; etc.
The delivery of cargo not only supports the economy’s productivity and ensures trade continuity, but also improves the airlines’ revenue to overcome these extraordinary times. In the near future, VNA will continue to operate cargo-only flights to assist the country in COVID-19 prevention and control.
