More actions to reduce plastic waste are being taken than ever before. “Say no to plastic waste” is not only a slogan, but a daily habit everywhere we go from workplaces to public places. In furtherance to the reduction of plastic waste on flights and in Lotus Lounges, VNA Group’s leadership has taken another small yet impactful action – introducing glass bottles to their meetings.
In the past, the use of plastic bottles was common practice in meeting rooms. But now they have been replaced with glass ones at the meetings of the Party’s Standing Board, the Board of Directors, and the Board of Management. According to the Office of VNA Group, more than 100 cartons of bottled water used to be purchased on a monthly basis for meetings. Now that reusable glass bottles have been incorporated, both plastic waste and procurement costs have been reduced.

The replacement of plastic bottles with glass ones is one of the actions taken in response to calls for “no more plastic waste” from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. In the coming time, the Office of VNA Group will start introducing glass bottles into the meetings of other departments and units as well.
Such a change shows that VNA Group’s leadership can talk the talk and walk the walk when it comes to environmental protection. They have also set a positive example for their employees and community members to reduce disposable plastic products as well as to join hands in reducing environmental pollution, protecting public health, and protecting the ecology.
