S P Jain School of Global Management (S P Jain) is a leading Australian business school known for its disruptive innovation in business education. The School has campuses in the vibrant cities of Dubai, Singapore, Mumbai and Sydney, and is renowned for running its global business programs across these cities. For its flagship Global MBA program, the School has been ranked by reputed international publications such as Forbes, Nielsen, Global Brands, Financial Times and The Economist.
Finally, the projects with the MBA students from SP Jain Global has been fulfilled on 30 Apr 2020. A great closing indeed!
Last December, I was introduced by one of our industry partners to mentor the projects of MBA Students at the school. As part of the program, the School offered students to join the Global Immersion Projects that help them to have the chance to work with Corporate Partners and to prepare their journeys ahead.
As a company joining this project, our team at Vietnam Airlines Singapore will also have a chance to learn the way MBA students identify and solve problems. Likewise, the students will have a chance to have a real insight into the industry and the company. The two-way learning process is beneficial to both parties.
As a mentor myself, I handed them the projects of this year for Vietnam Airlines Singapore – “The Growth Strategy”. With this wide scope, they have acquired different team members from different majors like marketing, supply chain, logistics, services & so on to join the team to have a thorough solution plan. And mid-way during the project, the Covid-19 came. Hence, we met again, and I gave them another different scope this time, “How to Recover After Covid-19”.
“Being guided by many mentors myself, this is my way to give back to the younger generations of Vietnam Airlines and the community that we live in” (Cre: SIN Branch).
Within only 4 months and given the Circuit Breaker in Singapore, the teams have finally delivered their presentations and recommendations for a turn-around plan which are great supplements to our team turn-around plan in the Singapore market. The teams at the school also expressed special thanks to Amir, Clinton, and Suhaib for having supported them throughout the projects even though they were also very occupied with countless of ticketing works due to the stopping of passenger flights in March this year and also in handling & implementing the cargo flights within the same period.
The synergy of academic approach, real-life business activities, the insider and outsiders’ views help our team at Vietnam Airlines Singapore have a better, well-rounded perspective on the way we do business and in which areas we can improve on. Additionally, participating in these mentoring activities helps Vietnam Airlines to build concrete relationships with other mentors MNCs as they are also our great loyal customers in the market. Last but not least, we also have gained access to a pool of talents who can join Vietnam Airlines workforce in the near future.
Being guided by many mentors myself, this is my way to give back to the younger generations of Vietnam Airlines and the community that we live in.
